Terms and Conditions

Upon booking a course with Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing, you, the participant, agree to the following terms and conditions:

Booking: Sian Dolben, the Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing teacher, reserves the right to decline to process a booking for any reason. All bookings are non-refundable. In the event of a participant being unable to attend remaining classes due to giving birth, fees for any remaining sessions will be refunded if the booking was made for a course starting before the 34th week of pregnancy. The refunded fee per session will be calculated as the total fee, after deduction of the £50 deposit, divided by the number of sessions in the course. 

Payments: A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required in order to confirm your place on your chosen course. The remaining balance of the course fee must be paid in full 7 days before the first class of the course. If a payment is not received, Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing reserves the right to cancel any booking made and the deposit will not be refunded. Flexible payment plans must be agreed in advance, and at least 50% of the total course fee must be paid before agreeing a payment plan. Course fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances. If a private one-to-one course is taking place at the participant’s house, travel expenses may also be payable by the participant.

Cancellation by the participant: In the event of cancellation by you, the participant, the deposit is non-refundable. The course fee will be refundable in full (minus the deposit) if two or more weeks’ notice is given.  If you cancel a course with less than two weeks’ notice then no refund will be given. 

Course Cancellation: The Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing teacher reserves the right to cancel any course, amend course times, dates or published prices. Changes to course prices, times and dates will be advised prior to the course start date and any course already paid in full will not be subject to any price increase. In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course, Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing will endeavour to reschedule the course to alternative, suitable dates. If this is not possible, or alternative dates are not suitable, a full refund of the total fee will be given. In the event of a course being cancelled part way through, no refund will be given for classes that have already taken place. The refunded fee per session will be calculated as the total fee, after deduction of the £50 deposit, divided by the number of sessions in the course. 

If it is not possible for a planned in-person event to take place, for example, due to extreme weather conditions or government guidelines, the event will either be rescheduled or will take place over live video link.

Rescheduling Sessions: For participants taking a private one-to-one course, 48 hours’ notice must be given to reschedule appointment dates or times. Where less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the participants will be liable for the session fee, which will be calculated as the total course fee, after deduction of the £50 deposit, divided by the number of sessions in the course. Exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances.

Intellectual property:  Any written or recorded materials and resources included as part of a course are for the personal use of the participant only, and may not be distributed to third parties. The participant agrees not to record the course or any part thereof. 

Gift vouchers: Vouches are valid for a period of 8 months from the date of issue and cannot be redeemed after the expiry date. Vouchers can be redeemed against any Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing Course, but cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers. Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. No change can be given if the voucher value exceeds the total cost of the course. 

Courses must be pre-booked and normal booking terms and conditions apply. Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing cannot guarantee that spaces will be available on specific courses. In the unlikely event that a course is cancelled by Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing, every effort will be made to offer a suitable alternative course date and the expiry date of the voucher will be extended. In the event that a course is cancelled by the voucher holder, the normal cancellation policy will apply, and an administration fee of £50 will be redeemed from the total value of the voucher.

Data Protection and GDPR:  The participant agrees that Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing will store your details in accordance with the GDPR Act 2018. You, the participant, have the right to view, amend or delete your individual file by giving not less than seven days’ notice.  Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing will not disclose, share or sell any of your personal information without your consent, unless required to do so by law. Disclaimer: Participants taking part in Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing classes do so with the understanding that the course content is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified medical practitioner.  Attending a course does not represent an alternative to appropriate medical care and participants should seek professional medical advice in relation to any questions, doubts or pregnancy-related issues.  Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing accepts no responsibility for the inappropriate use of Hypnobirthing techniques or complications or harm to any third party resulting from the use of Hypnobirthing techniques as a substitute for medical advice.

Taking a Hypnobirthing course does not, in any way, guarantee a certain birth outcome, and you, the participant, are responsible for the decisions made in relation to your pregnancy and birth.

By engaging in any content, purchases or otherwise, from Serene Beginnings Hypnobirthing, you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.
